It used to be even taller standing at 146 metres! We also took a ride on camels. The Cairo market is very exciting. There are so many people trying to sell you things. A British teenagers spend most of their time at school. Students in Britain can leave school at 16 (year 11). This is also the age when most students take their first important exams, GCSEs. They take between five and ten subjects and that means a lot of studying. They are spending more time on homework than teenagers have done before.
B Visit almost any school in Britain and the first thing you’ll notice is the school uniform. Although school uniform has its advantages, by the time most teenagers are 15 or 16 they are tired of wearing it. When there is more than one school in a town, a school uniform can make differences and rivalries between schools worse.

D Teenagers in Britain worry about their looks and their weight, like in many other western countries. Two-thirds of girls in Britain are on a diet, although only one in eight of them is overweight!
E Like teenagers all over the world, British teenagers love to chat. The mobile phone is an essential thing for most British teenagers. More than 90 per cent of 12 to 16-year-olds have one. Many experts believe that mobiles stop teenagers spending money on cigarettes and sweets.

A. People in every culture celebrate holidays. Although the word «holiday» literally means «holy day,» most American holidays are not religious, but commemorative in nature and origin. As the nation is blessed with rich ethnic heritage, it is possible to trace some of the American holidays to diverse cultural sources and traditions, but all holidays have taken on a distinctively American flavor.
B. Each of the 50 states has the right to observe Federal holidays according to their legislation. However, the majority of the states usually choose the date or day celebrated by the rest of the nation. Still the closing of local government offices and businesses on these holidays vary. For instance, in Washington State there are five official holidays when people have five days off; however, a company may give their employees three extra days per year to enhance their holiday term.
C. One of the most widely celebrated and popular holidays in the USA is Independence Day. What is rather remarkable about it is the splendid colorful parade. Take, for instance, a parade in Seattle, Washington. Different organizations take part in it. First, usually comes the fire brigades in full dress, with polished fire-engines. Girls throw flowers to them. The firemen and women are regarded as heroes, especially in small towns. Then come the police and other state organizations, fund raisers, voluntary bodies, factories, and small businesses proudly showing off their produce.
D. It is worth mentioning that in the United States, Americans like holidays very much. The word «holiday» for them is synonymous with «celebration». They tend to make some Sundays unique by organizing various festivals and carnivals. On these Sundays you can go to different towns and take part in entertaining events. The main attractions are festivals that welcome in the autumn as the leaves on the trees begin to turn red, orange, and yellow. For example, a festival of wooden boats or classical automobiles, or a wood-chopping contest and an auction are popular activities.
E. As for family celebrations in the USA, it is worth saying that these holidays are mostly calm and quiet. The most popular family holidays are Thanksgiving Day and Christmas. The extended families gather for these two events. Americans prepare only traditional meals for these holidays. For instance, for Thanksgiving Day there will be a roast turkey with cranberry sauce, white mashed potatoes (which ARE indispensable with turkey). Other sweet potatoes or yams, vegetables and a pumpkin pie.

You can also see the active volcano of Mount Redoubt and the highest peak in North America, Mount McKinley, from the city. It is one of the world’s last unspoiled areas. You are likely to see wolves, moose, and mountain goats. It is also possible to arrange whale — watching expeditions, as well as trips to see grizzly, black and brown bears in their natural habitat.
D. If you love adventure holidays, spend your next holidays in America. The vast country of Mexico has different places ideal for travelling. Your journey across Mexico should take you to a number of important historic sites. For example, you’ll see the largest pre-Columbian archaeological site in the country People left it hundreds of years ago, but the ruins will give you an impression of how wonderful the city looked in its prime. The buildings will give you an idea of how advanced the city was for its time.

Travel Tips for Children
Every Disney guidebook seems to have a section for babies or teenagers. There are even books written for teenagers going to Disney! However, where are the packing lists for children? I take my two daughters to Disney World every year. So I have a few tips for other parents going to Disney. I find that my children are typical children and they often get extremely dirty. So they need two sets of clothes a day. I recommend you to bring the following: more underwear and socks, at least two swimsuits for each child. Bring a pair of sandals to go to the pool area. And, of course, a first aid kit.
It is good when each child has a small suitcase with wheels and a backpack. Everyone gets out their suitcase and we go down my list — so many pairs of socks, swimsuits, etc. Everyone is fetching things and packing them at once. That way everyone gets the fun of packing and we pack everything, I’m sure. The backpacks are for CD players, books, colouring books, crayons, games, homework, and other things to play with on the plane and in the car.
If you are staying at one of the hotels that has a beach with sand, remember to bring some sand toys. All WDW resort hotel pools allow parents to borrow life vests for their children. These are very safe. When you аre in the park, have a meeting place in case you get lost. And we always place a business card with our mobile number and hotel info in our daughter’s sock.

Answer: The Keating is an intimate boutique hotel with full dedication to exceeding the guest’s expectations. Guests will rave about the Keating Hotel’s sleek design and lavish accommodations, savory food and chic boutique nightclub. Question: What is the atmosphere of your hotel? What types of guests does it attract?
Answer: The Keating caters to a diverse clientele. During convention season we have business executives, and at weekends, the hotel and night club welcome celebrities who appreciate an intimate setting without the media or fan attention. Yet the hotel has become most popular with people celebrating special occasions. We go above and beyond to make celebrations an extraordinary experience.
Question: What makes your hotel a destination within itself?
Answer: The Keating is a destination itself because it is located in the heart of the Gaslamp quarter where our guests have a bird’s eye view of the main entertainment district in San Diego without having to leave the comfort of their suite. Guests can begin their evening in style with specialty cocktails, followed by an intimate dinner at the Bistro Italiano that features fresh pasta dishes, thin crust pizzas and unique wines from California and Italy. And the night doesn’t have to end there; all hotel guests are VIPs at the boutique nightclub, where the city’s top DJs spin and San Diego’s elite come to mix and mingle.
Question: Do you provide any special amenities to guests?
Answer: Our luxurious rooms and suites have lavish amenities like modern electronics, WIFI wireless internet access, luxurious Italian linens, an espresso machine, and also designer bathrobes. In the evening, the guest rooms are turned down to a relaxing setting and fresh baked pastries are set table side for a nighttime treat. On arrival guests are welcomed in the lobby by a bowl of fruit and fresh flavored water made according to the season.
Question: What are your responsibilities in the hotel?
Answer: I am responsible for the entire operation at the Keating Hotel, making sure that all our guests are happy and want to come back and recommend our hotel to their family, friends and colleagues. Besides, I am actively involved in all kinds of renovations. Two years ago we redecorated all our guest rooms, our lobby area and the bar. This year we’ve also completely re-done our wellness area except for the swimming pool, which was built only a year ago.
Question: What do you enjoy most about what you do?
Answer: I love all the various aspects of a large city hotel. It’s the contact with the guests in the lobby, welcoming them to our executive lounge, inviting people for an exciting wine dinner in one of our award winning restaurants. Yet my greatest pleasure is working with my colleagues and subordinates. When you feel that you are representing a brand like this, then you just can’t go wrong. I am proud of what I do, and of the hotel I work for.

Oxford by Day
Oxford is а beautiful city by day. The university gardens, the parks and the fields around the river make the centre of Oxford а surprisingly green place.
